Fundraising

The Witney Buttercross Scout Group is continually fundraising to support the activities and facilities of the current scout group.

The scout group is an entirely voluntary organisation – we have no paid administrators, organisers or leaders. Only some of the costs of maintaining our scout hut and running activities are covered by the subs paid by the young people, meaning that the group is reliant on donations and money raised by specific events run by the group, and particularly by the leaders.

If you do your online shopping through www.easyfundraising.org.uk you can raise monies for the Group at no cost to yourself. This is because the retailers will give a donation to easyfundraising for any customers who shop via their website who will then pass on the donation to the customer’s nominated charity. UK taxpayers can Gift Aid their donations and make them worth more. Please visit their website for more details of the benefits on offer and to register.easyfundraising.org.uk

Clothing & Textile Recycling

We have collection bins outside the Scout Hut and in B&Q car park. You can put all clothing, paired shoes, handbags, bags, ties, belts, household linen and towels. Please ensure all items are in tied up bags and not left outside the bins.

Adult members of the scout group regularly empty these bins, and all items are collected for recycling. In return the group receives payment by weight. This scheme provides a steady income for the group.
